"Jumps for the city": CSIO Barcelona with the design
The design obstacles of the International Jumping Competition will be exhibited at the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona from September 10 to 22. The official international jumping competition, which annually hosts the most important team event in the world at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona, exposes at the museum the nine obstacles born from the A Jump for the City contest. These are pieces that symbolize monuments or emblematic works of Barcelona, such as the Sagrada Familia, the Eixample district or the city's metro network. Elena Boix, CSIO Barcelona course designer, has been in charge of designing the exhibition in which the visitor will walk the course the same way a rider would do shortly before competing, to learn the order of obstacles. Directly linked to the CSIO Barcelona, the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona exhibition Jumps for the city will be presented on September 10.
For a few years now, and with the aim of continuing to strengthen the existing link between the centennial sports competition and Barcelona, as well as the international promotion of the city, the obstacle design contest A jump for the City was created with the participation of art and design schools of the city. The winning jump becomes part of the CSIO Barcelona courses. PRESENTATION OF «ARC DECÒ»
In addition, during the opening of the exhibition, the new obstacle of this year will be presented. «Arc Decò» is winning jump of the fifth edition of this contest that took place with the participation of the Upper School of Disseny and Art Llotja students. «Arc Decò» is an elegant, minimalist and colorful project, based on the magical fountain of Barcelona and the Venetian towers that frame the avenue that reaches it. "We wanted to make a representative and original leap, transmit the essence of the magic and the spectacle of the city," confirm the winners Jessica Álvarez and Talía Puey.
